Get test results
This page tells you how to get the results of blood tests, X-rays, scans and other tests.
How you get your results
A doctor looks at your results first. We then email you your results and any advice.
If your results are urgent, reception will phone you to book an appointment.
Ask how long your results will take when you have the test.
See your results in the NHS App
You can see your results in the NHS App, or on the NHS website, once a doctor has reviewed them. You need to be aged 16 or over.
If you are not sure what a result means, ask us. Do not worry alone.

- Find out about seeing your test results online (NHS website) (opens in a new tab)
Ask us for your results
If you cannot use the NHS App, you can:
- send us a request online (opens in a new tab)
- call us on 01708 552 072
- ask at the front desk
Our online request form is not for urgent problems. If you need help today, call us on 01708 552 072 when we are open.
Who can ask for your results
We only give results to you, the patient. We cannot give them to anyone else, not even family.
Someone else can collect a form for you, but they cannot be given your results.
Blood tests
A blood test takes a small amount of blood from a vein, usually in your arm. It can check your general health and look for infections. It can also show how well organs like your liver and kidneys are working.
A doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional must ask for the test first. Then you can book an appointment with our practice nurse or healthcare assistant.

X-rays and scans
An X-ray takes a picture of the inside of your body. It is a quick and safe way to check for problems such as broken bones. X-rays and scans are usually done at a hospital, and the results are sent to us.

If you feel unwell while you wait
Do not wait for your results if you feel worse. If you need help today, call us on 01708 552 072 when we are open. When we are closed, call 111 or go to 111.nhs.uk (opens in a new tab).
