The NHS App
The NHS App is run by the NHS. It is free, and it works on a phone, tablet or computer.
What you can do in the NHS App
- order a repeat prescription and choose which pharmacy it goes to
- see your test results
- see your health record, including your medicines, allergies and vaccinations
- see your NHS number
- see some hospital appointments and referrals
- get health advice from the NHS website
You cannot book or cancel appointments with us in the NHS App. You cannot change your phone number, email address or address in it either. To book, use our online request form or call us. To cancel, call us.
Who can use it
You can use the NHS App if you are aged 13 or over. You must be a patient at a GP surgery in England.
How to get it
- Download the NHS App from the App Store or Google Play. Look for the NHS logo.
- Set up an NHS login. You need an email address and a mobile phone number.
- Prove who you are. You can use photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence.
If you do not have photo ID, we can give you details to use instead. Ask at reception. You can also use the NHS App on a computer without downloading anything.

Using the NHS App for someone else
If you care for someone, you may be able to use the NHS App for them. This is called family and carer access. We give proxy access in a small number of cases. A proxy can order repeat prescriptions only. Ask at reception.

Our online request form
Our online request form is a website called eConsult. You do not need an app or a password. Use it to:
- ask for an appointment
- ask a question about your health or medicines
- ask for a sick (fit) note or a letter
- order a repeat prescription
- send us a photo, for example of a rash
Send a request online (opens in a new tab)
You can send a request at any time, day or night. We reply within 2 working days. It is not for urgent problems: if you need help today, call us when we are open, or 111 when we are closed.
What happens next
We will look at the information you give us. Then we will decide the most suitable person for you to see, and when they are available.
We will reply by phone, text or email within 2 working days.
Sending a request does not mean you will be seen the same day. The form is not for urgent problems. If you need help today, call us on 01708 552 072 when we are open.
Talk to us: our helper on this website
Every page has a Talk to us button. It opens the surgery's helper, which you can talk to. It is automated, not a person.
It can answer questions about the surgery, help you join, and help you set up the NHS App. It cannot give medical advice, book an appointment, or see your record.
Nothing listens until you tap the button, and we do not record your voice. Read our privacy notice to find out what we keep.
If the helper cannot answer your question, it will give you our phone number. If it's a life-threatening emergency, call 999.
If you cannot use the internet
You do not need the internet to use the surgery. You can:
- call us on 01708 552 072, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm
- come to the front desk at 1 Harlow Road, Rainham, RM13 7UP
- put a repeat prescription slip through our letterbox
A family member, friend or carer can help you use the NHS App or our online request form. Our reception team can also show you how the tools work.
Tell us if you need an interpreter, or information in large print, easy read, braille or audio.
